Welcome from the School Principal

Welcome back to what is now our 4th school year in existence. To the entire school body, staff, parents, children and Board of Management I say congratulations on the growth and development of Maynooth Educate Together National School to date. What a journey it has been! From humble beginnings in terms of enrolment and staffing, we now boast a school pupil population in excess of 150 Pupils and a Teaching Staff of 11, assisted by 5 Special Needs Assistants and 1 Secretary. To our teaching staff this year we welcome Angela Langan, Noreen Shire, Eoin MacDomhnaill, Roisin Cassin, Elaine Miller and Ann Tynan. We now have 6 mainstream class teachers, 2 teachers in our Autistic Spectrum Disorder Unit, 1 English as an Additional Language Teacher, 1 Learning Support/Resource Teachear and 1 Part-time Resource Teacher. I am an Administrative Principal this year. At the start of this school year I witnessed with pride the professionalism and competence of the entire staff in settling the children back to school in late August. We have many children that are new to the school in all classes, each bringing their personalities, gifts, talets and cultures to our school community. We welcome each and every one.
Our Parents Association has resumed its activities for this school year. On behalf of the school staff, I thank the Parents Association for the great work done in the last school year in fundraising and in staff support.
The term of the present Board of Management is coming to an end. Again, on behalf of the the school staff I thank the Board of Management for its tremendous achievements. It is a mammoth task to set up a school from the beginning and the growth and development of Maynooth Educate Together National School is due in part to the great commitment and work rate of Board members, past and present. Board of Management members work on a voluntary basis and are vital to the successful running of all our schools. The mirroring of this commitment by staff and the parent body has been the secret of our success.
We look forward to a successful school year with the continued support of parents and the wider school community.
